THERE IS A "CATCH" IN REVERSE MORTGAGES

Several years back, my debilitated mother had nearly run out of her savings.  Dad had died long ago.  At that time, she was taking some very expensive drugs.  She was 86 years old and had spent most of her savings.  She absolutely did not want to sell her house and move in with me, so she agreed to make a "reverse mortgage."

A lady from Wells Fargo came to the house and explained what it involved in taking out a reverse mortgage on my mom's house.  A reverse mortgage is just like a regular mortgage in that you have to listen and evaluate the details very carefully to see if it is right for you.

The amount of money a person receives depends on how much equity is in a house.  If there is a mortgage, it can work, but it makes it a little more complicated to work out the deal.

My mother's house was paid for, mortgage free, so it eliminated some of the aforementioned complications.  I sat with my mother as she was explained about how a reverse mortgage works, and I remember that everything seemed okay up until it came to how the money would be disbursed.  With only superfical thought, I can imagine many people making the wrong decision.  This decision should be made according to a person's personal circumstances.

The money can be disbursed as follows:
1)  Placed in a line of credit with the money w/d at a person's discretion
2)  A set monthly income
3)  All at one time, in a lump sum,  to be deposited in a personal checking account

Using the choices set forth in 1 & 2, the money STOPS being disbursed the minute the owners of the house vacates the house for an extended period of time, such as permanently entering a nursing home, or if they should die.  THE MONEY STILL LEFT IN THE ACCOUNT WILL NO LONGER BE DISBURSED, and at that point, the mortgage holder will give approximately one year for an administrator of the estate to sell the house.  If the administrator wants to pay/buy the mortgage (the amount already withdrawn), this will be acceptable, but if not and the house does not sell within the year allowed, THE MORTGAGE HOLDER FORECLOSES ON THE HOUSE.

I told my mother to take he full amount from the beginning.  This worked fine, as I will explain further down this article.

Example:  Say the house has $300,000 worth of equity, and the owner decides on either 1 or 2 options.  For whatever reason, he/she/they has to move out within a year and has only drawn out $15,000 dollars.  If the beneficiary of the estate does not want to buy it, it will be put up for sale.  If no one buys it within a year, the mortgage holder will foreclose on it, sell it for much more than what is owed on it, and make a ton of money on the deal.  THAT IS THE CATCH!

I lucked out!  My mother's reverse mortgage was processed before this latest housing crash occured, so she got a "good appraisal" which determined the amount of equity she had in the house.  But by the time she died, the appraisal had dropped over $20,000.  I didn't want her house since I already had a house and could not afford to own two houses.  I tried to sell it for the amount that was owed on it without success.  Due to it being upside down, unless I put money with it so the buyer could get a clear title, I let Wells Fargo foreclose on it.  Since she had taken the full amount from the beginning, my mother already had the full amount of equity sitting in her checking account.  The foreclosure did not affect me in any way.  

Bad deal:  With the appraisals being so low now, the equity in anyone's house will not be as good as it might have been a few years ago, so this should be given a lot of thought.  Questions to consider:  What might happen in the future to the owners of the house...if they will be able to stay in the house for a long time...and what will happen to the house when the mortgage company takes it over.

Good deal:  If a person gets a good appraisal, with a generous amount of equity available, and ALL the equity money is selected from the beginning and placed into a personal checking or savings account, then it won't matter as much what happens in the future.  The mortgage holders do not come back on the beneficiary of the house to request a refund.

As in all dealings:  Listen to the person offering the reverse mortgage, carefully analyze the facts, and do not let emotions get in the way.  Ask..."What if so and so happens in the future!"  Consider every possible scenario that might be involved in the deal.

This is a very brief overview of what can happen when a person makes a reverse mortgage.

OUR STUPIDITY REGARDING POLITICIANS vs VETERANS

Some of my emails are better than I can come up with, so here is another email, a poem that says it all, that I have c&p for this blog:

He was getting old and paunchy
And his hair was falling fast,
And he sat around the Legion,
Telling stories of the past.

Of a war that he once fought in
And the deeds that he had done,
In his exploits with his buddies;
They were heroes, every one.

QUESTIONS MANY PEOPLE WOULD LIKE TO ASK OBAMA

I have copied the following email that I received and am posting the questions on today's blog:

If only some interviewer would ask Obama the following questions: "Why do you want our wonderful country to become a socialist nation?" "Why do you want to destroy our country?" "What is behind your dictatorial message?" "Why do you hate America so much that you are destroying it?" "Why do you not want a middle class society and only want poor people looking to you for a handout?" "Why do you hate the middle class so much?" "How can you sleep at night knowing you are destroying peoples lives?" "If your health care plan is so good why don't you use it yourself?" "Why don't you want to wait for 6 months to see a doctor or have surgery like the rest of us will have to?" "Why do you tell lies to us daily?" "Is politics so important in your life that you would do anything to get votes?"

These are questions that everyone wants to know but nobody will ask. He gets away with everything again. What's wrong with this picture??????

WHAT IS KICK-BACK MONEY?

Kick-back money has been around since the beginning of time.  It is money that impacts many business deals, and it is prevalent in many governments.

When a company or a government undertakes a project and agrees to a contract for a contractor to take on the project, without a restrictive bidding process in place, this gives the person(s) who is in power the ability to receive kick-back money.

The person in power may get several bids, even if it is not a requirement, and they make a deal with the bidder who agrees to give them the most kick-back money.  Example:  A project may be awarded for six billion dollars, but the person in power receives two billion dollars back, leaving the contractor to do the project for four billion, and the person(s) in power deposits the two billion in their personal account, or in some off-shore account.

When is it apparent that kick-back money has played a part in any given project?

• When a project is awarded to a contractor at a far greater price than the work can be obtained from another contractor.
• When the project is poorly constructed, does not work right, is unstable, and does not meet even minimum standards of competency.

When you see projects that are way over-priced, and are produced in a shoddy manner, you should stop and ask, "Why is this happening?"

IF NFL MARTIN THINKS INCOGNITO IS BAD...HE SHOULD TRY SUBSTITUTE TEACHING

What is the definition of abuse or harassment? When you constantly and deliberately do something to someone that makes them very unhappy...that is a form of abuse and harassment. 

With Incognito's background, I am certain that he is a "bad dude" and capable of abuse and harassment.  However, some of his team mates take up for him by saying he is just a super joker.  He is a bully.

Martin does not know what harassment is until he trys to teach a bunch of middle and high school kids.  I am certain that Incognito perfected his behavior as he worked his way through school.  His bad behavior was reinforced by the laughter he received when he "acted out" in the classroom.

The classrooms of today are filled with both boys and girls with personalities like Incognito.  They live for the moment, and the attention they get from bad behavior spurs them onward.  Sometimes, they carry this behavior into adulthood.

I substitute teach sometimes to get away from this computer in order to see what is really going on in the world.  What better way than to observe what is going on in the schools.  "Bubble dwellers, " have no idea where our culture is headed.

While Martin has only had to contend with one guy named Incognito, a substitute teacher has to deal with dozens of them almost every time they take an assignment. Some of the regular teachers have to deal with it every day.

I constantly run into students who harass me.  I am what is considered to be a "tough cookie," and I put them out in the hall, have administration move them out of the room, and use whatever discipline works for the students.  I have been told by many students, "We don't care if we get suspended.  We don't want to go to school anyway."  However, no matter how hard I come down on them, I am constantly told, "You are my favorite sub-teacher," or they tell me "You are a super cool sub."  I start most classes off with, "I am a nice teacher, if you are nice students; however, if you are not nice students, I am not a nice teacher.  It is your choice."

It is a shame that teachers spend at least four years getting a degree in education, graduate and are ready to "save the world," but after being employed, they find themselves having to spend at least 50% of their time trying to keep order in the room.  Some teachers do better at this than others, but the sweet, naive, easily intimidated ones are sometimes "tormented" by their disruptive students.

To add insult to injury, the national media blames everything on the teachers.  While there are some incompetent teachers, there are thousands of students who do not want to learn, will not listen, and will actually "abuse" their teacher. 

Back to Martin vs Incognito.  I would NEVER let someone who is about my size intimidate, abuse, and harass me.  I may not be able to control my students all the time, but I never let them see the "whites of my eyes."

This helps to explain the incompetence of this administration: only 8% of them have ever worked in private business! That's right! Only eight percent -- the least, by far, of the last 19 presidents! And these people are trying to tell our big Corporations how to run their business?

How can the president of a major nation and society, the one with the most successful economic system in world history, stand and talk about business when he's never worked for one? Or about jobs when he has never really had one? And when it's the same for 92% of his senior staff and closest advisers?

They've spent most of their time in academia, Government and/or non-profit jobs or as "community organizers." They should have been in an employment line.

WHY WASN'T OBAMACARE MADE TO BE VOLUNTARY LIKE MEDICARE?

If Obama and the gang had, from the very beginning, made ObamaCare to be a voluntary health care program, there would not have been all this chaos over the last three+ years.

To be honest, I thought it was going to be voluntary, sort of like another insurance program, run like the government so desires, but that everyone would be able to keep their own insurance.  However, that has turned out to be a lie.  He lied, over and over again, by telling the general public, "If you like the insurance policy you have, you can keep it." 

Some people keep trying to equate ObamaCare with the passing of medicare and part D of the medicare program.  It is like comparing apples with oranges.  The main thing is that those programs are voluntary, and ObamaCare is a "forced" law that is being imposed on every American, whether they like it or not, or they will be fined if they don't have health insurance. 

Obama is doing everything he can to push the American people into a single-payer system; a system like Canada and some other countries overseas.  Every intelligent person knows that would be disastrous for our country.

Why is he doing this?  Is it because it will put the government one step closer to being totally controlled by the government?

Maybe this is the time to watch/listen again to what the famous commentator Paul Harvey had to say in 1964:   "If I was the devil..."  Maybe you need to click on the "devil" red, white, and blue icon on the right and listen to it again...or for the first time.  There is a saying, "Disbelief in the devil originates from the devil himself."

It looks as if the devil is doing what the bible warns us about:  "Be sober minded, be watchful.  Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour." 1 Peter 5:8

WHY SOME AMERICANS DISTRUST OBAMA

I am sure the people who believe in Obama wonder why so many people distrust him, speaking mainly of the conservatives and the Republicans.  The following are some of the reasons:

1)  America is a huge country, and the government has to be run like a business in order to be successful.  Obama has never run a business; he only worked as a community organizer.  He was elected because he makes pretty, convincing speeches.  So do used car salesmen. 

2)  Right after election, he was asked to provide his birth certificate, because the rumors were flying that he was not born in America.  Did he promptly provide the certificate in order to squash the rumors.  He did not, and this added fuel to the rumors.  Think about it...he created the monumental problem regarding his birth place. 

3)  He wasn't in office very long before he began to talk about providing ObamaCare.  After a lot of arguments between the Democrats and the Republicans, the law was passed.  Who drew up ObamaCare?  Did Obama or anyone else even know what was in it?  Intelligent people do not want to sign on for a law that they know nothing about.  Nancy Pelosi made her famous remark, "We will have to pass it to know what is in it."  That is ludicrous!  Every congressman and senator should have been forced to read it before passing it.  That is what we pay them for...to do stuff like that!

4)  Ever since he has taken office, there have been numerous problems that has arisen.  Obama and his gang have refused to answer who is responsible for the problems.  There was the IGA and IRS debaucle, Fast and Furious, Benghazi, and more.  The latest is the roll-out of the healthcare.gov site.

5)  When making decisions, he appears to lean in the direction of socialism.  He made an "apology tour" to the countries overseas.  This has not helped, and has possibly hurt, since he appears to be on their side.

6)  Nobody is ever responsible for any problem that arises, investigations lead nowhere, and Obama never knows nothing.  He claims he finds out like the rest of us, through the news.  He denies any part of anything that goes wrong.  That is pitiful...our president has to learn about things through the media. 

7)  There is an old adage:  "Don't listen to what people say, watch what they do."  Obama is an expert in "spinning" pretty words to convince people to do what he wants, no matter how illogical it may seem.

8)  We have been lied to so much during Obama's administration, we don't know what to believe anymore.  He swore we could keep our present health care when ObamaCare went into operation on 10/01/13.  However, as usual, he was not telling the truth.

9)  A president is supposed to act as a negotiator between the two parties.  He does not negotiate, and it is "my way or the highway."  All he does is blame the Republicans for everything.

10)  He has divided this country like no other president has in the past.

11)  What do we need Obama for?  What does he actually accomplish himself in a day's time?  His golf game should be improving since he seems to be on a golf course more than in his office trying to fix this country.  Other than making pretty, hollow speeches, and is very adept in placing the blame on the Republicans...what does he actually do?

WHAT IS THE REAL UNDERLYING 
GOAL BEHIND OBAMACARE?

There are 2 major political parties in America. I’m a member of the naïve, stupid, and cowardly one. I’m a Republican. How stupid is the GOP? They still don’t get it. I told them 5 years ago, 2 books ago, a national bestseller ago (“The Ultimate Obama Survival Guide”), and in hundreds of articles and commentaries, that Obamacare was never meant to help America, or heal the sick, or lower healthcare costs, or lower the debt, or expand the economy.

The GOP needs to stop calling Obamacare a “trainwreck.” That means it’s a mistake, or accident. That means it’s a gigantic flop, or failure. It’s NOT. This is a brilliant, cynical, and purposeful attempt to damage the U.S. economy, kill jobs, and bring down capitalism. It’s not a failure, it’s Obama’s grand success. It’s not a “trainwreck,” Obamacare is a suicide attack. He wants to hurt us, to bring us to our knees, to capitulate- so we agree under duress to accept big government.

Obama’s hero and mentor was Saul Alinsky- a radical Marxist intent on destroying capitalism. Alinksky’s stated advice was to call the other guy “a terrorist” to hide your own intensions. To scream that the other guy is “ruining America,” while you are the one actually plotting the destruction of America. To claim again and again…in every sentence of every speech…that you are “saving the middle class,” while you are busy wiping out the middle class.

The GOP is so stupid they can’t see it. There are no mistakes here. This is a planned purposeful attack. The tell-tale sign isn’t the disastrous start to Obamacare. Or the devastating effect the new taxes are having on the economy. Or the death of full-time jobs. Or the overwhelming debt. Or the dramatic increases in health insurance rates. Or the 70% of doctors now thinking of retiring- bringing on a healthcare crisis of unimaginable proportions. Forget all that.

The real sign that this is a purposeful attack upon capitalism is how many Obama administration members and Democratic Congressmen are openly calling Tea Party Republicans and anyone who wants to stop Obamacare “terrorists.” There’s the clue. Even the clueless GOP should be able to see that. They are calling the reasonable people…the patriots…the people who believe in the Constitution…the people who believe exactly what the Founding Fathers believed…the people who want to take power away from corrupt politicians who have put America $17 trillion in debt…terrorists?

That’s because they are Saul Alinsky-ing the GOP. The people trying to purposely hurt America, capitalism and the middle class…are calling the patriots by a terrible name to fool, confuse and distract the public.

Obamacare is a raving, rollicking, fantastic success. Stop calling it a failure. Here is what it was created to do. It is succeeding on all counts.

1) Obamacare was intended to bring about the Marxist dream- redistribution of wealth. Rich people, small business owners, and the middle class are being robbed, so that the money can be redistributed to poor people (who vote Democrat). Think about it. If you’re rich or middle class, you now have to pay for your own healthcare costs (at much higher rates) AND 40 million other people’s costs too (through massive tax increases). So you’re stuck paying for both bills. You are left broke. Brilliant.

2) Obamacare was intended to wipe out the middle class and make them dependent on government. Think about it. Even Obama’s IRS predicts that health insurance for a typical American family by 2016 will be $20,000 per year. But how would middle class Americans pay that bill and have anything left for food or housing or living? People that make $40K, or $50K, or $60K can’t possibly hope to spend $20K on health insurance without becoming homeless. Bingo. That’s how you make middle class people dependent on government. That’s how you make everyone addicted to government checks. Brilliant.

3) As a bonus, Obamacare is intended to kill every decent paying job in the economy, creating only crummy, crappy part-time jobs. Why? Just to make sure the middle class is trapped, with no way out. Just to make sure no one has the $20,000 per year to pay for health insurance, thereby guaranteeing they become wards of the state. Brilliant.

4) Obamacare is intended to bankrupt small business, and therefore starve donations to the GOP. Think about it. Do you know a small business owner? I know hundreds of them. Their rates are being doubled, tripled and quadrupled by Obamacare. Guess who writes 75% of the checks to Republican candidates and conservative causes? Small business. Even if a small business owner manages to survive, he or she certainly can’t write a big check to the GOP anymore. Money is the “mother’s milk” of politics. Without donations, a political party ceases to exist. Bingo. That’s the point of Obamacare. Obama is bankrupting his political opposition and drying up donations to the GOP. Brilliant.

5) Obamacare is intended to make the IRS all-powerful. It adds thousands of new IRS agents. It puts the IRS in charge of overseeing 15% of the U.S. economy. The IRS has the right because of Obamacare to snoop into every aspect of your life, to go into your bank accounts, to fine you, to frighten you, to intimidate you. And Obama and his socialist cabal have access to your deepest medical secrets. By law your doctor has to ask your sexual history. That information is now in the hands of Obama and the IRS to blackmail GOP candidates into either not running, or supporting bigger government, or leaking the info and ruining your campaign. Or have you forgotten the IRS harassed, intimidated and persecuted critics of Obama and conservative groups? Now Obama hands the IRS even more power. Big Brother rules our lives. Brilliant.

6) Obamacare is intended to unionize 15 million healthcare workers. That produces $15 billion in new union dues. That money goes to fund Democratic candidates and socialist causes- thereby guaranteeing Obama’s friends never lose another election, and Obama’s policies keep ruining capitalism and bankrupting business owners long after he’s out of office.

Message to the GOP: This isn’t a game. This isn’t tiddly-winks. This is a serious, purposeful attempt to highjack America and destroy capitalism. This isn’t a trainwreck. It’s purposeful suicide. It’s not failing, it’s working exactly according to plan. Obama knows what he’s doing. Stop apologizing and start fighting.

Oh and one more thing…Conservatives aren’t “terrorists.” We are patriots and saviors. We represent the Constitution and the Founding Fathers. We are the heroes and good guys. Unless you get all this through your thick skulls, America is lost…forever.

Do you agree with this author?  Why couldn't ObamaCare be passed with a voluntary mandate...period?  Why do they have to force everyone to be insured?  This is taking away Americans freedom of choice about insurance coverage.   Freedom in American is slowly fading away under the Obama administration.     

 

TEACHERS WORK IN AN ABUSIVE ENVIRONMENT

The local, state, and federal government controls the school system.  They are not doing a very good job, because the people in charge think that our deteriorating school system is due to incompetent teachers, and they simply throw more money into the system.

The real problem is that our culture is deteriorating, and many elementary, middle school, and high schools are becoming very dysfunctional due to the students "acting-out" which hinders the learning process, and also creates an abusive environment for our teachers. 

I am a retired registered nurse who writes books, blogs, and does freelance writing for an online company.  A writer lives a non-stimulating existence which inhibits the creative juices that a writer must possess.  To counter-act the possibility of becoming stale and non-inspiring, I substitute teach in our local school system.  This is a great place to keep up with the times, what is "really" going on in our society, and can be both nerve-wracking and rewarding at the same time.

In my experience as a sub-teacher, I have worked in 26 different schools over a two year period.  Some of the schools have such disruptive students, I will not return to teach.  I was even attacked once when they used me as a human dart board by throwing sharpened pencils and books at me.  I have seen it all.  The average person would be surprised about what goes on in our schools these days.

I subbed for a brand-new teacher yesterday.  One of her classes have such disruptive, rebellious, and defiant students, two of her good students said they these students push their regular teacher to tears sometimes.  Using my "drill-sergeant technique," the girls said the disruptive kids were acting better for me than their regular teacher, but I could not control them very well myself.

I accused them yesterday of abusing me and their regular teacher.  Teachers should not be forced to work in a dangerous and hazardous environment.  

Everyone wonders what is wrong with our educational system...but I tell you that it is not the teacher's fault...it is the fault of the students who are extremely disruptive and will not try to learn anything.  They also disrupt the class to the point that the ones who want to learn cannot concentrate on their studies. 

Yesterday, one of the good girls recently took and flunked her quarterly EQT test.  She said that it was because the room was so noisy, she could not concentrate.  I fully understood why she could not concentrate.

The students are disciplined, so that is not the problem.  The discipline simply does not work.  I had to call for help yesterday, and the man who showed up gave them a lecture and followed it up with, "If this lady calls for help again, all of you in this class will go home for the day."  As soon as he left, they erupted again.  Every time I moved toward the "help button" on the wall, they would calm down for a few minutes.

TEACHERS DO NOT DESERVE TO BE ABUSED AND FORCED TO WORK UNDER HAZARADOUS CONDITIONS!  I am not saying that all teachers are abused, but the foremost problem a teacher must deal with in any school, in any class, throughout the country, is dealing with discipline.  Teachers get degrees so they can teach.  It should not be in their job description that they must also function like a "drill-sergeant" in order to make the students behave and listen.

What can be done about it?  The parents who send these half-raised, dysfunctional students to school should be held accountable.  Maybe they should be fined, not with money, but made to spend their vacation time substituting in a school for a week.   

MYSTERIOUS OBAMACARE

From the moment of conception, ObamaCare has been a mystery, a real "who-dunnit."  Who "done" the work on the healthcare bill?  What's in it?  Why was it passed when nobody knew what was in it?  What do we pay these politicians for...if not to read a bill before it's passed.  Who "done" the work on the website?  Why doesn't it work?  The Empire State Building was built in 18 months, without all of our fancy equipment.  They have not been able to build a decent website in three years.  It's rolled out, nobody can get online and still...nobody knows what's going on and what is in ObamaCare.  Who is to blame?  Sebelius heads up the roll-out of the website.  ObamaCare...the greatest "who-dunnit" of all time.  By the way, she does not think she works for us (the Americans), so who does she think she works for?

WHERE'S BIDEN?

Has anybody seen Vice President Biden lately?  Has he been kidnapped, sitting in a deserted warehouse on an old chair, wrapped in place with ropes with duct tape over his mouth?  Is Jay Carney standing over him with threats about keeping his mouth shut?  Of course not!  I couldn't resist this silly analogy of where he might be.  

However, he is probably stowed away somewhere safe.  The administration anticipated some glitches in the healthcare software, and they did not want Biden to be able to comment on the problem.

Poor Biden...everytime he opens his mouth, his tongue is corrupted with glitches.  I think he has set a record of "gaffs" while serving in the WH.  Dan Quale is owed an apology by the mass media.  Opps!  I forgot for a moment that Republicans are the only ones they come after.  

PICKING ON BOB BECKEL

It may seem that I am picking on Bob Beckel, but he could be the "poster child" for left-wing liberals.  Just today on "The Five," he made the statement, or should I say he spoke "parrot talk" by saying, "Republicans want to do away with Social Security and Medicare."

Like other liberals, he makes these ludicrous statements as if the Republicans don't want to take care of the elderly, do away with S/S and M/C, and do not want to replace it with something better...which they do.

I like Bob, and I don't know why, but they say he is basically a very nice man.  However, he is doing his part in corrupting the political culture of this country.  Brainless wonders who look up to him (I don't know for what) take him at his word.  Somewhere on a talk show or another blog, they will repeat his exact words.

Please people, use your brains to see if something sounds logical.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH OBAMACARE?

From the very first, Obama and his subjects wanted it, but nobody knew what was in it.

They fought for it, and cramed it down everyone's throats even if Pelosi agreed:  "We won't know what is in it unti it is passed."

Obamacare was passed without anybody knowing what was in it or what it would mean to America's healthcare system.

After it was passed, Obama went around "stumping" for people to accept it, even if he had no idea what was in it himself.

People in groups divided in Republicans and Democrats argue venomously for which ever side they are on, spitting out "sound bites" about the program, but does not really know what is going on.

October 1, 2013, the website was online, and nobody was able to get enrolled, and still does not know what type of insurance they might be getting.

In other words...what is wrong with Obamacare?  NOBODY KNOWS WHAT IS IN THE PROGRAM!  After three years, we are all still arguing about a healthcare program that nobody knows what's in it.

THAT'S WHAT IS WRONG WITH OBAMACARE!!!

WHAT TO CUT OUT OF THE BUDGET?

Give me a break!  There is fraud threaded throughout the government in the form of unnecessary jobs, welfare, medicaid, and disability entitlement programs.  This should be the first place to start. 

Another place to cut would be with the luxurious trips taken by our politicians using their "slush" funds.  Lobbyists should be thrown out of the whitehouse.  Why are they allowed to bribe our politicians?  Why do politicians allow themselves to be influenced by a lobbyist?  Shouldn't this be a crime?  Government departments should not be allowed to attend extravagant conventions on our dime.  What do they really accomplish except spending a lot of our taxpayer money and making fools of themselves?  Obama's golf games, due to the excessive amount of money it takes for the secret service men to protect him, costs our country tons of money.  I could go on and on.

However, instead of cutting any of the above, the first thing on their list is always social security, medicare, and the military.

Social security was started by FDR, and in the beginning it was put into a retirement fund, aside from the general fund.  President Johnson came along and decided (on his own) to put our social secutity into the general fund...you know...the fund where all the above stated shenanigans are funded from. 

Now, everybody has the nerve to start calling it an "entitlement."  If everyone who has worked all of their life, and they had the same amount of money taken out of their checks and placed into a private retirement fund, drawing interest, and interest upon interest, most retirees would be in good shape today. 
 
Not only has everyone who has contributed to social security and medicare in the past, retired and are still working, has social security and medicare still being taken out of their paycheck.  In addition, most retires have to purchase a supplement form of insurance to pick up the slack where medicare does not pay.  It is not an "entitlement" when you have spent years putting money into a program.

As for the military...thousands of men have died for this country.  Without them, we may not even exist as a country today, because some of the radicals overseas would have probably blown us to bits.  It is imperitative that we keep a strong military.  We should be acutely aware of this since 911 happened.  Anything the military gets should never be called an "entitlement," because our men in the military, and their families, have paid a high price for any of the benefits they get.

I do not understand why the politicians in Washington can't see or understand the reasoning behind what I have just written above.  All they can see is how to "spin words" in such a fashion that it will get them re-elected.

 

OBAMA CARE - Parrot Talk

There has never been anything that has been impacted by "parrot talk" like Obama Care.  Recently, Bob Beckle of "The Five" on Fox News was irate (as usual) in his defense of Obama Care. He spit out words that are simply "parrot-talk," because I will guarantee you that he has not read a single page of Obama Care.

Obama himself spends our taxpayer money traveling around the country "stumping" for his health care bill to be put into place. Again, I will guarantee you that he has not read a single page of the health care bill.

Nancy Pelosi said it best: "We will not know what is in it until it is passed."

How ludicrous! The major problem we intelligent Americans have faced with Obama Care is that we don't know what is in the bill, and wonder if anyone else does. As large as the bill is, it is hard to believe that any one person knows everything in it.

Before Obama Care was passed, it should have been disected by a special committee, and the results made known to the American people. We should have been allowed to have a say as to whether it should be passed since it will impact our nation in such a mighty way. Obama Care is not a trivial matter.

But "no," the Obama gang decided to push it down everyone's throats. Anybody with a grain of sense does not like something being pushed on them, especially about something so important.

However, many of the people on Obama's side sit like parrots on a perch and wait for "spin" to be packed into their brains, then like mighty warriors, the parrots start to regurgitate the words to anyone who will listen. This will eventually bite them in the backside, like the union bosses are starting to realize.

It is said that there is a "dumbing down of America." That is because too many people are not utilizing their brains (if they possess one) to its maximum potential. Too many people are sitting with their brains in "neutral," until someone prompts them to say, "Polly wants a cracker. Obama Care will solve all of our health problems."
